I\u00a0haven’t posted much lately because I haven’t had anything much of interest to post. \u00a0I have been continuing to work on building a work bench, and as it is with many projects, the last 10 percent of the detail work takes a loonnng time!<\/p>\n
It seems as though\u00a0I’ve been working on this bench forever. I made some wooden jaws for the vise, and I had to remove the vise to install them, then reinstall it. Then I drilled 15 “dog holes” in the top and two more on the vise jaw. (Drilling that many\u00a0holes in 1-1\/2″ thick maple is time-consuming and eats up drill bits!) The dog holes accept bench dogs–the pegs you can see in the picture–that are used to clamp wood to the bench top for working.\u00a0I still need to put some finish into the holes to protect the top from absorbing moisture.<\/p>\n
