For those of you who were unable to attend Janie’s Celebration of Life, we were lucky to have the help of a professional videographer friend of Leslie’s to record the Celebration. The link below will open the video, but be patient, it’s a big file and may take a few minutes to download and start. You can’t see it in the video, but there were about 90 friends and family present and we felt a lot of love! Thank you.
Thank you , Rich. I so regret not keeping up with you and Janie while it was possible for you both. You have gone through immense trials. Thankful you have family and friends support, and such great medical care.
Hugs and love and prayers to you all. Especially this season as you navigate without Janie. She was such a bright shining star!
Thank you Rich and Leslie for sharing this with us. So very touching, so much love. Although we had only spent a couple of years in Auburn as neighbors of the Gallahers, we felt welcomed into their lives in a way that is still alive today. 1977 we were lucky enough to afford a home 2 doors down. They were the first friends we made there and remained in touch after moving out in ’79 to rejoin our family in New England. We had a few visits back and forth and were lucky enough to see how the Kids had grown and later on got to meet some of their grandchildren. We even had a chance to connect in NY City when Janie had a trip for her job. The kindness and friendship Rich and Janie shared with us was more than we could have ever imagined, help with cars, the house, baby sitting, directions, suggestions enhancing our PNW experience. Even when we sold our house and had to leave before the deal was done, Rich stepped up and stood in for us to complete the sale. I will never forget Janie dropping by to ‘borrow’ some butter, and then calling us over to share a12 inch block of Alaskan crab claws ! I am unable to recall a time when Janie was not smiling, except perhaps when Jason decorated a newly painted wall with one of his masterpieces. Janie was real, loving, giving, positive, creative, an amazing friend, neighbor, teacher and example of the power that love brings to us all. Rest in Peace.
Thank you, friends! I love those memories! I hope to travel to see you sometime in the coming year.
