May 1st, the day following Walpurgis Eve, is a holiday. It is the International Day for Workers and Swedish Labor Day. We took a pretty drive to a resort at Härjarö gård. Annalena explained that the resort had been closed for 15 years and had just reopened with new owners. The weather was perfect, and there were many many people. I think the cafe may have been busier then the new owners expected. They ran out of several menu items and there was a long line to order. There is a place for RVs on the property, and I believe there were over a hundred on this first weekend! It might have been because it was a holiday weekend but I have a feeling the resort will be a success!

Note, the wooden statue likely represents Saint Ansgar, a missionary from the 9th century who helped bring Christianity to the Scandinavia. According to Microsoft Copilot, “The rustic, weathered carving is typical of local historical monuments and resort displays in Sweden.”
